Role
The pension committee is the pension plan administrator and the trustee of the pension plan fund. It assumes the powers and duties in respect of plan administration and management of the pension fund. The various powers are delegated to specific partners or sub-committees composed of members of the pension committee, depending on the task.
The pension committee has four categories of members:
- Members nominated by the employer (5)
- Members elected by the active members (4)
- Members elected by the inactive members and beneficiaries (2)
- Independent member (1)
The members from each category who attend the annual meeting elect the members of the pension committee.
